girl's song
I hope this picture (of myself I'm afraid) inspires you to spend your time working on the songs instead of the internet. You never know what you might find on here... It's a scary place!
After talking to the Student's folks, I've decided to go with "Just A Girl" by No Doubt as the other female kareoke song. It's crazy upbeat and will probably be fun for us to play. In addition, Jim loves the phased 80s guitar lick. I expect people will really love this song!

new song & order
Hey everyone. We're getting closer to the night where the world comes face to face with Hide The Knives. I'm getting really excited!!
I had a question for you: I'm short one song for kareoke. I'm trying to find another good song for a group of girls. Will you look over the set that follows and think two things:
(1) Does this set look pretty good? Any suggestions for changing the order? Any songs that you'd like to see in the set that isn't or would like to see a song taken out?
(2) What other song can we do that would make sense for the kareoke for girls? (Is "Just A Girl" a possibility? I just thought about that one....)
Let me know what you think please. Keep learning the songs and let me know if you have any questions.

Volunteer Appreciation Songs
OK boys and girl: here we go!
This year's Volunteer Appreciation Night (VAN) is a prom theme--complete everyone dressing up, chaperones and crappy punch. AND, most importantly, a narly band. This year's band: Hide The Knives. (Aaron has been dreaming of being in a band for years with this name--to celebrate his rejoining us, I thought it fitting to give the band this moniker.)
We are going to be playing songs so people can dance and some kareoke. I have a meeting in the morning to try and finalize details and song lists with the Student Ministry team--but I am pretty confident these songs will make up the foundation of what we do. There are more details to come, but I wanted to get you some songs to start on.
All of these songs are linked to mp3s for you. Instead of burning discs and waiting for things to get mailed and all that, I've posted them here for you. You can download them to your iPod or burn discs or whatever you want and is easiest for you. This site is a private site that only the 4 of us have the address for. I'll let you know when updates are made--please let me know if any of the links are bad and I'll fix them quickly.
Find the songs split into three categories based on who is singing lead. Here is my suggestion: learn one song every day between now and the day we get together and you'll be fine! Listen to the songs, memorize words and the form and chords and all that. You are all gifted enough to wait to the last minute, but there are a lot of songs here and I wouldn't recommend it! A song a day--you can do that!
